The IDevDirect.Com Affiliate Program Details
Interview by Jim Webster
This interview was given to Affilla by Jim Webster,
the President/CEO of
iDevDirect.com L.L.C. on 2010-02-15.
: Who is paid a commission if several affiliate links were clicked on by the buyer before his purchase? The first affiliate, the last one or is the commission somehow shared? If shared, please describe how exactly.
A:
The first to deliver the customer gets the commission. There is no commission sharing.
: Do you allow so-called self-purchases - purchases made by affiliates through their own affiliate links to earn commissions? How do you handle this? Is your policy clearly stated on your website? Is your policy stated in your Affiliate Agreement?
A:
Yes we allow self-purchases to be made.
: Have you set up any payout threshold to protect your affiliates against self-purchases? Payout threshold, if set up correctly and combined with self-purchase prohibition policy, can protect affiliate rights being a one more barrier against self-purchases. If
you allow self-purchases but set up a high payout threshold, please explain what for this is done. High thresholds make actually getting paid
the commissions difficult. Is your payout threshold and self-purchases policy clearly reflected on your website and in your Affiliate Agreement? Do you explain the necessity of the threshold to your potential affiliates in your affiliate program promotional materials?
A:
We require a $100 account balance for payment. Balances carry over from month-to-month until met.
: Very Important! Do you pay commissions for the first direct sale only or do you keep paying commissions for the referred customer's further orders? I mean, is your program just a CPA (cost-per-acquisition) or is it a so-called revenue share (residual income) one? If it is a revenue share program how long and how much do you keep paying in commissions? Do you offer any cross-sell, follow-up-sell, up-sell products to your customers that are also eligible for affiliate commissions?
A:
You can continue earning commission on purchases made by your customer up to 90 days after the initial click to our site.
: Is your program a two-tier one? I mean do you pay commissions on sub-affiliate sales? If so how is the commission calculated for each of the parties? Is your second-tier commission calculated as a percentage of a sale amount or as a percentage of a first-tier commission (if it is not fixed, of course)?
A:
One.
: Do you offer commission levels based on the generated affiliate sale amount? If yes, please describe.
A:
Yes. A higher payout is available for higher producing affiliates. Contact us for more details.
: Most of affiliate program vendors provide affiliates with a set of banners and other promotional materials, do you? Do you also provide affiliates with articles, customizable video or PDF reports? Do you allow a so-called deep linking to your affiliates (to be able to send referrals not only to your default/home page but also to another page of their choice)?
A:
Yes we provide numerous different marketing tools including banners, text ads, lightboxes, page peels, HTML Email templates, etc.
: What type of support do you provide to your affiliates? (email, online-ticketing, forum and/or live chat or 24-hour live chat support).
A:
Online technical support desk.
